German Research Foundation – DFG India office participated in “Info-sessions on German Higher Education and Research Opportunities” in Trivandrum & Kochi from 10th to 13th February 2016. Organized by the German House for Research and Innovation - DWIH New Delhi the 4-day event provided a gateway through which Higher Education & Research Institutions from Germany offered information about their courses and a broad overview of the scope and role of their respective organisations in promoting science and research in Germany. At the same time, the representatives of these institutions interacted with faculty members and prospective students and addressed their queries to enable them to make the best possible decisions about their research careers.
Headed by Dr. Alexander P Hansen, Director DFG India office, the German delegation was composed of representatives of DWIH New Delhi consortium members. These representatives conducted info-sessions at CUSAT, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Kerala University, Goethe Zentrum and IISER, Trivandrum. Dr. Vaibhav Agarwal, Senior Scientific Officer DFG India office, elaborated the DFG funding programmes and shared all necessary information required by Indian students, scientists and researchers to pursue their careers in Germany.
This event aims to provide ample first-hand information on research and innovation in Germany and further intensify the existing Indo-German collaboration in the fields of science and higher education.
