Heidelberg University, jointly with Free University Berlin and in partnership with TERI University, organizes a three-day international conference on “Global environmental change in the Himalayan Region: Controversies, Impacts, Futures” between  November 6 and 8 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The conference is a part of the regular activities organized by the German House for Research and Innovation (DWIH) in India.

Think nationally to boost research, says Max Planck head

The German House for Research and Innovation - DWIH New Delhi visited the Bosch Centre of Excellence in Automation Technologies at Dharamsinh Desai University (DDU), Nadiad in October 2015. The delegation included 4 DWIH New Delhi members namely Heidelberg Center South Asia (HCSA), University of Göttingen, Max Planck Society (MPG) and German Research Foundation (DFG). The objective was to understand the institute-industry partnership and visit the laboratories set up by Bosch in collaboration with DDU to train young engineers on high-tech equipment used in the industries.

The event reflected international cooperation between India and Germany through the photographs displayed.

The International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) for Astronomy & Astrophysics is a joint structured doctoral program by the Max Planck Institute for Radioastronomy (MPIfR, Bonn) and the Universities of Bonn and Cologne.

Several PhD positions are available at one of the most vibrant Astronomy centers in Europe for talented students who are about to finish their Masters (or equivalent) thesis in Physics or Astrophysics. The instruction language is English.

Program Details:

The 3rd Indo-German workshop on the “Advances in Materials, Reactions & Separation Processes” will be jointly organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India and the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems, Magdeburg, Germany, during February 23 – 26, 2016 at IIT Guwahati, India. This is the 3rd edition of the event. The 1st workshop was held at IIT Madras from 18 – 20 February, 2008 and the 2nd workshop was held at Bad Herrenalb, Germany from 20 – 22 February, 2012.
