Taking up the DWIH’s Motto of “Germany Land of Ideas”, this Joint Lecture Series aims at paying tribute to the different facets of Alexander von Humboldt’s academic achievements. The German House for Science and Innovation (Deutsches Haus für Wissenschaft und Innovation, DWIH) is a consortium of about twenty members for strengthening academic exchange between Indian and Germany. Heidelberg Center South Asia (HCSA) has initiated this Lecture Series, jointly with the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD). By doing so, we aim at bringing together scholars from the fields of Natural and Social Sciences, as well as Humanities and Literature.
