The AHK Indien or the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce was incorporated in 1956. Today, they are with over 6700 members the largest AHK and the largest Chamber of Commerce in India. They have built up a strong local presence with the head-office in Mumbai, branch offices in Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Pune and a liaison office in Düsseldorf (Germany). As the primary contact for Indian and German companies who want to start doing business with the respective other country, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce enhances the bilateral economic relations between India and Germany.

As a highly regarded and respected institution in India and Germany, with its qualified team and above all its innumerable contacts and connections, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce has played a major role in advancing corporate as well as cultural understanding between India and Germany for over 50 years.

The first Indo-German Symposium on Systems Biology 2012 brings together a critical number of researchers from all over India and Germany to discuss their current research in order to enhance cooperation in research and teaching in areas such as Synthetic Biology, Infection Biology, Cancer Biology, Signal Transduction, Microarray, Drug design, and Metabolic Pathway Modeling.The symposium serves as platform for researchers with diverse disciplinary backgrounds - applied mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, and biology among others – to enable the exchange ideas and promote collaboration.
